When I was in first grade, Ben Channey and I got detention for writing our names on our worksheets in Neon Elmer’s glue. Now, I want to squirt that shit everywhere. I think I want to smash a cake on it. I think I want to blow it up. I think I want to tell you everything. But like really, all of this could change. What if I just feel like an apple blossom then? It’s a lot of pressure.

In this performance, ELECTRIC, Emily Michaels King uses her unique blend of movement, text, and bold personal revelations to explore divulgence and the instinct to knock the tower down.

ELECTRIC is currently in development, and an in-process version of the piece was presented at Arena Dance’s CandyBox Dance Festival in 2022.
